Bartender Job Description

We are seeking a professional, energetic, and customer-focused Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience preparing classic cocktails and specialty beverages, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The Bartender will greet guests, take orders, recommend menu items, prepare and serve beverages and light food items, and ensure customers enjoy a welcoming and memorable experience. The successful candidate must be organized, personable, and able to maintain a clean and fully stocked bar area at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant guests
• Mix, garnish, and present drinks according to company standards and recipes
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Take beverage and food orders and serve snacks and drinks efficiently
• Assess customers’ preferences and make recommendations based on their tastes
• Up-sell beverages, menu items, and promotions to enhance the guest experience
• Create and suggest new cocktail recipes and specialty drinks
• Verify customers’ identification and ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements
• Operate bar equipment and utilize proper ingredients and measurements
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and surrounding areas
• Restock bar inventory, supplies, garnishes, and glassware as needed
• Process customer payments and operate POS systems accurately
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Work collaboratively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Bartender
• Strong knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving beverages
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and professional appearance
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems
• Ability to maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar
• Knowledge of a second language is an asset
• Relevant bartending certification or hospitality training is a plus
• Must be reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous hospitality or restaurant experience preferred
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
