Retail Custodian
Job Summary
The Retail Custodian is responsible for ensuring that the office environment is clean, hygienic, and conducive to productivity. This role requires maintaining a high level of confidentiality, being discreet, and ensuring minimal disruption to meetings and coworkers while performing cleaning tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchen areas, and other office spaces daily.
- Sweep and mop floors regularly.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and office equipment.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.
- Restock supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and other common areas.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained and stored properly.
- Report any necessary repairs or replacements to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion, ensuring that sensitive information is not disclosed.
- Be mindful of meeting schedules and avoid cleaning areas where meetings are in progress. Return at a later time.
- Perform duties quietly and efficiently to minimize disturbances to coworkers.
- Follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals responsibly.
- Executes any other duty assigned by management.
Organizational Relationships
This position reports to the Store Manager and indirectly to managers within the main office. He/she interacts regularly with customer service reps and medical reps.
Requirements - Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.

Physical Demands
He/she must have the physical ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job which may include standing, bending, lifting and carrying loads up to 15 pounds.
